  Honey has many values that we can benefit from its use.We have to trust someone or something in life, why not let it be the Honey bee?  By instinct the honey bee has a way of checking the quality of flowers it visits to obtain its nectar.   We can only assume that honey bees would only want to make the best and purest honey.

  It has been proven that bacteria cannot live in the presence of honey because it has an excellent source of potassium, which withdraws the moisture from the bacteria that is essential for the existence of bacteria.

  
For ages honey made by bees  from flower nectars was the one food of pure sweetness available to humans. Then came along the substitutes for honey, better known as manufactured sugar. Honey still remains the one source of sweetness offering life-giving qualities.  The healing properties of honey have been utilized for thousands of years to promote healing of cuts, diseases, and various health disorders.

 
We all require vitamins and minerals in order to maintain good health. Too many times our bodies are robbed of the natural vitamins and minerals in our daily dietary intake.  The mineral content in honey are Iron, copper, manganese, cilica, chlorine, calcium, aluminum, and magnesium.  And to our surprise these are all found in honey.  All derived from soil, which plant growth occurs, and passed through by the plant to the nectar which is the base substance collected by the bees to produce honey.  Copper, Iron and manganese are found in larger quantities in dark honeys.

 
What is the vitamin content of honey?  It contains pollen.  The pollen of flowers has a higher content of vitamin C than almost any fruit or vegetable. Honey with the largest amount of pollen will have more vitamin C than others.  Honey is an excellent source of vitamins, all the vitamins considered necessary to our health.

  Honey is a welcome and delicious adjunct to the menu, it is a builder food packed with vitamins and minerals the body needs to build and rebuild itself.  Honey gives quick energy.  The advantages of honey over sugar are:

                              1. Non-irritating to the digestive system.
                              2. It is rapidly assimilated.
                              3. It quickly furnishes the demand for energy.
                              4. It enables athletes and others who expend energy heavily to recuperate rapidly from
                                  exhaustion.
                              5. Honey is handled best by the kidneys.
                              6. It has a natural and gentle laxative effect.
                              7. Honey is also known to have sedative value.
                              8. It is easily obtainable and also inexpensive.

  
Good health is earned.  Either pay the grocery store or a drug store.  When your sick you find yourself spending  the money you saved for groceries to purchase drugs in order to bring back your health.  You can definitely cut some corners and maybe even save some money by adding honey to your daily intake.  Just be thankful you are not a bear,
just imagine what trouble they have to go through for a taste of honey.
